Our Story
Why I Built a Different Kind of Ecological Advisory Firm
EcoVantage was founded with a simple idea: there should be a different way to approach environmental consulting.
After more than two decades working across regulatory agencies, environmental consulting, ecological restoration, mitigation banking, and environmental markets, I had the opportunity to see the industry from many different perspectives. I also saw how easily expertise can become siloed—science separated from strategy, regulatory decisions disconnected from business realities, and talented people constrained by traditional organizational structures and ways of working.
I wanted to build something different.
I founded EcoVantage as a boutique ecological advisory firm designed to bring those perspectives together. Rather than replicate the traditional consulting model, I wanted to create a firm that could operate across disciplines—combining ecological expertise, regulatory insight, mitigation banking, environmental market knowledge, and strategic thinking to solve complex problems and identify opportunities that may not fit neatly within a single area of practice.
Just as importantly, I wanted to create a different way of working. I believe experienced people do their best work when they are trusted to think independently, collaborate openly, challenge conventional approaches, and focus on solving the problem in front of them rather than navigating unnecessary organizational layers. That philosophy shapes both how EcoVantage works with clients and how we build our teams.
EcoVantage is intentionally designed to be agile and collaborative. Instead of trying to house every capability under one roof, we are building relationships with talented scientists, engineers, restoration practitioners, market specialists, and other professionals who bring complementary expertise. This allows us to assemble the right team around an opportunity while maintaining the senior-level involvement and strategic perspective of a boutique firm.
Our goal isn't simply to follow established models or deliver the standard solution. We want to bring together ideas, expertise, and perspectives in new ways—helping clients think differently about ecological restoration, mitigation banking, environmental markets, and the value of natural resources.

Jaime is an experienced scientist and business leader with a Master's degree in Biological Oceanography and over 20 years of extensive experience spanning business development, project management, permitting, and policy/market analysis. As the founder and owner of EcoVantage Ecological Services, Jaime has demonstrated a strong ability to drive organizational growth, manage multifaceted ecological and environmental projects, and develop innovative solutions for industry challenges.
Jaime's work has focused on spearheading project and market development and crafting effective environmental strategies. She has consistently delivered measurable outcomes, including the successful development of strategic opportunities, closing impactful business deals, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve outstanding results. Adept at technical and scientific writing, Jaime has written and reviewed a wide range of complex documents, developed policies and procedures, and delivered persuasive presentations at conferences and industry meetings.
Her deep expertise in ecological restoration, wetland delineation, habitat assessments, and compliance with environmental regulations has been instrumental in achieving sustainable outcomes for clients and communities alike. Jaime's leadership style is collaborative and results-oriented, with a strong emphasis on mentorship and team development.
